Welcome back!

We are very excited to announce the graduate diaspora studies workshop programme at the University of Edinburgh for the upcoming semester. Everyone is welcome to attend – the seminars will be held on every other Tuesday at 1pm in room G15, William Robertson Wing, Doorway 4, Old Medical School, University of Edinburgh.

6th October: Iain Watson (University of Edinburgh) – ‘Memory and Inclusion – Waipu, New Zealand and the sharing of its extraordinary migration story.’

20th October: Mauro Di Lullo (University of Stirling) – ‘The Palestinian Diaspora and Historical Memory.’

27th October: Tim Cooper (University of Edinburgh) – ‘White Men’s Countries: Popular and Elite Responses to Japanese Immigration, 1906-1914’

17th November: Graham Robson (University of Stirling) – ‘Scottish Home Rule, 1885-1914: The search for support in the diaspora.’

1st December: Catherine Bateson (University of Edinburgh) – ‘‘Harry Macarthy has come off without a single scar!’ The Americanisation of Irish music cultural diaspora during the American Civil War.’

All are welcome – especially fellow PhD candidates and ECRs.
